This infrared surface temperature sensor reads 8 channels up to a maximum temperature of 200°C and can operate over a distance of up to 950 mm, allowing for mounting in the leading edge of the side pod or the wing mirrors (for front infrared tyre temperature sensor measurement). Output is via a fully user-configurable CAN 2.0 B system. The IRN8 infrared tyre temperature sensor series is extensively used in F1 by over 90% of the grid! The Texense IRN8 infrared tyre temperature sensor combines perfect accuracy at 200°C (±1% FS) and great temperature compensation, making it the ideal solution for measuring temperatures across the whole surface of the tyre, even in extreme conditions. The quality of design, dimensions (31 x 11 x 17 mm) and weight with cable (only 15 g) means it’s easy to install. At long ranges such as 950 mm, the outer channels bleed into the sidewall of the tyre and capture critical data when steering angle is applied.
