Sales Associate

Job Title: Sales Associate

Starting wages: $16-$23/hr. DOE

Division/Department Parts/Supply

OVERVIEW

MoTeC engine management, data acquisition, and power management systems have become a household name in the motorsport world over the past 35+ years. With over 160 dealers in North America, we are looking to expand our Mooresville, NC location to include another parts room associate to assist with the fast-paced work environment. An ideal candidate would have previous experience in an inventory environment, retail sales in the automotive industry, supply positions in the military, and other related fields. Experience is not required, and we will train the right candidate in all aspects of the job. Basic DC electrical, automotive, and mechanical knowledge is a plus due to the nature of the products offered. We inventory over a million dollars of tracked inventory, so you must bring your “A Game” to be successful.

JOB SUMMARY

This job requires someone self-motivated and not easily distracted. The ideal candidate will successfully handle daily shipping duties, learn all daily processing activities in the parts department, help maintain inventory levels, and quickly become familiar with customers, parts, and processes. Duties will include help answering phones during peak hours, taking, and fulfilling orders, and assisting walk-in customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Answer sales inquiry calls
  • Maintain friendly, positive attitude under pressure and time constraints.
  • Convert customer descriptions into part numbers.
  • Acquire all necessary information to ship orders accurately.
  • Monitor and notify purchasing manager of inventory levels and reorder points.
  • Learn all primary functions of Sage100 accounting software.
  • Package products for the shelf with proper documentation.
  • Maintain organization in the parts room.
  • Report to the General Manager with progress and milestones.

Product Technical Support I

Job Title: Technical Support I

With over 160 dealers in North America, we are looking to expand our Mooresville, NC location to include technical support person to assist with our diverse product line. An ideal candidate would have previous experience with MoTeC brand hardware and software or other aftermarket hardware and software brands in our market space. Basic DC electrical, automotive, and internal combustion engine knowledge required due to the nature of the products offered.

JOB SUMMARY

This job requires someone self-motivated and interested in making the customer's problems their own problem. The ideal candidate will successfully handle daily support phone calls and emails, learn all MoTeC product categories and products, help maintain and improve the company Wiki, and quickly become familiar with customers, ancillary parts, and processes. Duties will include answering phones during work hours and logging customer support issues.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ability to document technical information to company Wiki.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Automotive enthusiast required.
  • Clear understanding of internal combustion engines
  • Demonstrates core knowledge of the automotive market.
  • Basic understanding of DC electronics
    • To include relays, diodes, resistors, voltage divider, etc.
  • Basic computer/networking knowledge
  • Help customers with ethernet and communications problems.
  • College degree not required.
  • Experience reviewing logged data.
  • Basic wiring knowledge
    • How to wire sensors
    • Thorough understanding of CAN topology
    • Gauge of wire for specific items
  • Can offer advise based off experience and conceptual understanding.
  • Experience with customer support
  • Demonstrated conceptual understanding of fuel injection & data acquisition.
    • Knowledge of individual components required for port and direct injection.
    • Rudimentary understanding of lambda, ignition timing, injection timing & engine cycles|
    • Clear understanding of different sensors required to measure and record driver and vehicle performance.
  • Must understand how sensors work, including temperature, pressure, position, location, force, etc.
